A WEST Devon business has been awarded grant funding which it will use to deliver free training to other employments. The West Devon Business Information Point (BIP) received part of the funding from The Rural Enterprise Development Project (RED) which aims to help companies increase their productivity, turnover and profitability. BIP will be using the funding to deliver free training to businesses as part of the programme. Any businesses in West Devon and Torridge that are not land based and have fewer than 250 employees can take advantage of the programme. Training workshops cover a range of subjects including sales and marketing, computing, cashflow planning, and new product development. Following the workshops, a limited number of businesses will get the chance to sign up with an adviser who will take an in-depth look at their business activity in order to identify areas of improvement. More information is available from BIP on 0800 592872.
