SB Frankfurt got the first goal from a good corner, which was met at the far post from an even better header.
Thistles struck back when a goalmouth scramble ended with Matt Goad driving home the ball.
With only five minutes to go SB Frankfurt broke free and a well placed shot beat the Thistles? keeper. But with only seconds remaining and with everybody in the SB Frankfurt penalty area, David Yorith?s precision corner found Ben Sharland?s head and the match was all level.
The golden goal extra time failed to separate the two sides with Ian Smerdon coming close with a long range shot.
The penalty shoot-out finally swung the game in SB Frankfurt?s favour,with Thistles losing out 4-1.
