Gunnislake 4
GUNNISLAKE completed the first league double of the season with this relatively comfortable victory. In the early stages they came close to opening the scoring when, for the second week running, Joe Pulley was denied by the woodwork.
With Ken Ord, Mark Yeoman, Neil Kinger and Pulley all attacking well from midfield, coupled with the front two of Lee Underwood and Paul Tomkies looking sharp, Gunnislake always looked likely to open the scoring. The breakthrough came on 25 minutes when Ord played in Tomkies to head home.
Gunnislake had to wait until the second half to increase their lead. The second goal came when Yeoman produced an excellent run and cross and Tomkies helped the ball on to Underwood who scored from close range.
Tomkies grabbed a second for himself before fellow strike partner Underwood notched his second with a precision shot after a surging run by Ord.
An added benefit for top of the table Gunnislake was that Andy Southcott played his first fixture for the club this season, following a spell with Jewson club Callington.
