GUNNISLAKE Football Club held their annual dinner dance and presentation evening at Tavistock Rugby Club.
The evening was a great success and presentations were made to the team and individuals by club president Godfrey Smaile and chairman James Wakem.
Individual presentations were: Mark Warwick, most appearances; Lee Underwood, highest goal scorer; Kenny Ord, manager's player; Steve Gaggini, players' player.
Last year's season started well for the club, winning most of the opening games but with bad weather in late September then the foot and mouth outbreak early in the New Year.
Both these aspects took their toll towards the end of the season where the club had to play up to four games a week in order to finish on time.
At the close of season Gunnislake finished fourth in division 1 of the Duchy league and were runners up in the Cornwall Junior Cup Western Area final.
They now look forward to the new season. Training has started on Wednesday evenings and some pre-season games have been arranged. Anybody interested in joining the club should contact the secretary on 01822 832524.
Thanks were expressed to the parish council for funds enabling the club to verti-drain and re-seed the pitch.
