A WEST Devon camping site has been given a prestigious award by the English tourist board, Visit England.

Len and Sheila Scott, owners of the Old Rectory Campsite at Gulworthy, were recently presented with a four star award.

Having owned the site for just over three years, work has been non-stop to bring the site up to date.

The Rectory now has an extended shower block with disabled facilities, four camping pods for all-weather camping, electric hook-ups, a children's play area, lots of pigs, free range chickens and caravan storage.

Sheila said: 'We are delighted that all the hard work has been rewarded. It has always been our goal to have a family friendly, clean and happy site.

'We look forward to a very busy summer.'
