Tavistock Thirds 41
Kingsbridge Seconds 14
TAVISTOCK dominated from the start with an awesome effort from the pack that set the tone for the rest of the game.
They were given some help from a sprinkling of youngsters who had no other game to play but the core of the team were thirds through and through.
After just five minutes, new scrum half, and Tavistock's man of the match, Henry Cunningham, cut through the Kingsbridge defence for the first of his brace of tries. Cunningham was given solid ball from the forwards and used it wisely.
James Kaminski scored the first brace of his four of the match in the first half as well.
Kingsbridge tried to respond but Tavistock's defence on their own try line was too solid and organised. So at half time Tavistock were up 22-0.
Tavistock were playing down the slope in the second half but did not manage to squash the opposition. Kaminski scored two more with Ben Neil knapping another. Kingsbridge showed great spirit and were awarded a penalty try 20 minutes before the end.
At at the death, after knocking on the door for about five minutes, Kingsbridge crashed through the Tavistock defence, that had held so well, for a consolation try.
This led to the kick of the day, a conversion from the sideline that perfectly dissected the posts.
