WOMEN from the Tavistock Slimming World group are celebrating a quadruple triumph as between them they have lost more than 13 stone.
Charlotte Gliddon, Di Craddock, Jayne Porter and Helen Bartlett have been crowned Women of the Year 2009 after winning the local heat of a competition to find UK's top slimmer.
Charlotte, who joined the group in January 2008 and has dropped four dress sizes, said: 'I'm so honoured because every woman in the group is so amazing and has made so many positive changes to their life by losing weight.'
Di, who joined four months ago, said: 'I would never have dreamt that today I'd have fit food optimising into my everyday life, being a shift worker, never mind winning a contest like this. My weight loss has made such a huge difference to my life.'
Jayne, who has lost three stone, said: 'I can do things now that I never thought were possible, like walking for miles and going into any shop and picking clothes off the rails without worrying about whether they'll fit.'
And Helen who has reduced her dress size from a 22 to a 14, said she follows Slimming World's food optimising eating plan and never 'goes hungry'.
Tracy Horton, who runs the Slimming World group in Tavistock, said: 'I am so proud of what everyone has achieved, they are all incredibly worthy winners, a real inspiration to the rest of the group and I hope they go on to inspire other women in the area who want to lose weight.'
