A HOUSE in Princetown was severely damaged by fire on Sunday and a female occupant was treated for shock.

Firefighters from Princetown, Tavistock and Yelverton fought the blaze in Tavistock Road and remained at the scene for three hours.

The crews found the house well alight on arrival and tackled the fire using four sets of breathing apparatus and two hosereel jets.

Fire officers said no-one was in the building but the female occupant was treated by ambulance personnel for shock. The ground floor was completely damaged by fire and first floor damaged by heat and smoke.

Fire investigators are trying to identify the cause of the fire.
