FINCH Foundry is making a plea for volunteers who can spare a couple of hours once a week to help in different areas of the tourist attraction.
The site is one of the last remaining water-powered forges in the country and needs people to help look after the historic machinery and give demonstrations of the tilt hammers, which are all in working order, on Sundays.
It also requires people throughout the week in other areas including the shop. You can give as little or as much time as you like and learn new and unusual skills.
'We have an urgent need for volunteers to strengthen our team,' said custodian Elisabeth Chard. 'Volunteers are the heart of this site and we want people to join our happy band.'
Travelling expenses are paid and full training will be given. Contact Elisabeth on 01837 840046 if you are interested.
