TAVISTOCK were quickly into attack mode, Simon Boreham leading the first of many charges into the Sidmouth half, with the forwards driving on and recycling ball to establish good control.
Seb Roberts converted an early penalty and from the restart, Tavistock came roaring back. A drive by Darren Sutton was taken on by John Pain, a quick change of direction opened up the defence and Seb Roberts scorched through to score under the posts and complete the conversion.
Tavistock were rampant, linking with Adam Wilson. He was held up but the ball was recycled and by moving it wide, Josh Sutton looped round to score.
Sidmouth tried to break out but crunching tackles from Simon Beard stopped them in their tracks. The forwards were in complete control, Peter Welsh winning all the ball from the scrums and linking with the backs. A break by Duncan Law opened the way for Mark Ewings to score in the corner.
Tavistock started the second half as they had finished the first. Andrew Barwick put in some surging drives, recycling the ball and with Alex Clayton in support, it was passed to Paul Harwood and with his customary change of pace he was away to score wide on the right. Law converted.
Sidmouth came back but the Tavistock defence was solid and Ben Bassett wrestled the ball back.
A break in the centre by Chris Freeman got Tavistock back on the attack, Mike Knapman recycling the ball to Richard Huish. He was just tackled short but Hamish Pearse-Danker was on hand to crash over.
Tavistock were quickly back on the offensive, with the pack setting up the launch pad for James McDowell to join the line from full-back. unfortunately, the ball went loose and Sidmouth scored a breakaway try.
Tavistock stormed back, Louis Addaway carving through down the wing and setting up a great position only for the referee to call a halt.
