Carlsberg South Western League Launceston 1 Callington Town 0 A LAST minute goal from former Town favourite Charlie Blair consigned his old side to their fifth defeat of the season. Until that strike it was Callington?s keeper Vinnie Bowman who created the headlines with a series of fine saves to keep a strong home team at bay. Town almost took the lead early on but, that apart, it was generally the home side in the ascendancy and Bowman was at his sparkling best. When the deciding goal came, Blair outstripped the Callington defence and although Bowman got fingers to his shot, he could not prevent it from going over the line. For Callington there were encouraging signs to take into next Saturday?s re-arranged Carlsberg home game against Porthleven at Ginsters Marshfield Parc 3pm. Cornish Guardian East Cornwall Premier League Callington Town 3 Roche 0 THIS performance by Callington was full of passion and they were deserved winners over bottom-of-the-table Roche. Adam Reid, coming back from injury, put Town ahead on 35 minutes and his fighting spirit got him a second on 75 to put the match beyond the visitors. The third goal was by Adam?s older brother Matt and completed a good afternoon for the Callington boys. Bodmin Trophies Duchy League Division Two Delabole United 1 Callington Town 1 AN even first half saw Callington defending uphill against a tough Delabole side but neither side could make a breakthrough. This was partly due, however to the crossbar which denied Nathan Dore?s 20 yard looping shot, and Town captain Mark Fish who headed a goalbound shot off his line. The second half continued in the same vein until the home side broke the deadlock on the hour. But Callington came back and equalised through Dore five minutes later. Both sides could have won the game in the final stages but they had to settle for a hard earned draw.
