FORMER Devon and Cornwall Chief Constable Sir John Evans will be stopping in Okehampton next month as he takes part in a charity cycle ride from John O?Groats to Land?s End.
Two years ago, while he was still Chief Constable Sir John took part in a 200-mile plus challenge, raising more than £3,000 for the Dream-a-Way charity, which provides holidays for disabled and underprivileged people in the South West.
This time, Sir John will lead a team setting out on the two-week challenge on Sunday, September 5, with the riders reaching his old force area on September 16, coming through Okehampton on Friday, September 17.
