Known as Gorvagas — Cornish supergroup, the sessions will be based in Launceston, Liskeard, Mevagissey, Newquay and Redruth.
The Liskeard session is at the Liskerrett Centre today (Thursday) and the Launceston session takes place at Jericho's Café on Tuesday October 26.
Local musician and music leader Phil Innes will lead and inspire those attending the sessions to take well known pieces of music and songs and invent new arrangements to fit the group — enabling them to create a repertoire to play at local events.
Alongside the building of this repertoire, the groups will also be working on performing part of a new concert piece which will be performed at the Hall for Cornwall on March 12 2011.
Any instrument and musical style is welcome. So come along and bring your fiddle, viola, tuba, guitar or whatever and join in.
The sessions start early autumn 2010 so get in touch to find out more details and register. For more information call Phil on 07773 337714 or Isobel on 01872 321971 or email [email protected]">[email protected]
