A COURSE offering a qualification in fundamental food hygiene knowledge for all food handlers is being offered at a special subsidised rate for people on both sides of the Tamar. Lynher Training, a Gunnislake company who have been providing training in Devon and Cornwall for more than 30 years, have acquired limited funding to help subsidise 50 people in the area towards the new Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) level two award in food safety in catering. Allen Howell, director of Lynher Training, said he was delighted to attract the funding that will give the opportunity to earn a nationally recognised qualification essential in today's industry. There will be limited courses of a one-day duration running in the Tamar Valley area during April and May. To qualify for this funding, which reduces the cost of the course from £55 to £16, attendees should be aged more than 19 years old and have lived in the area for at least three years.
