TAMAR Grow Local, a community interest company promoting local produce in the Tamar Valley, and the National Trust will be holding an exciting new event, the 'Tamar Harvest', at Cotehele Quay this Sunday.

The event will be a celebration of local produce in and around the Tamar Valley, and combine sales of local produce, refreshments, and talks, with information about the market gardening history of the valley. This will include some historic film footage, information on new education projects and activities for children.

Speakers include Andrew Ormerod, of the Eden Project, on the future of fruit production; Celia Stevens on the Big Bramley Birthday; Sean O'Neill on co-operative growing; Cotehele National Trust head chef on using local seasonal produce, and Caroline Clark on community retailing, the Bere Ferrers experience.

There will also be tours of the Cotehele Mother Orchard.

Organisers are also interested in locating families with local fruit, vegetable or flower varieties named after them.
