BBC Radio Devon is planning to broadcast direct from this year?s Tavistock Food Festival throughout the whole of the first day, Saturday July 28. The broadcast is expected to be hosted by David Fitzgerald. The show will feature live interviews with exhibitors, celebrity chefs and visitors at what has become the South West?s premier food and drink festival. There will be more than 100 exhibition stands offering the best quality food and drink from South West producers. Visitors will be able to sample and buy. An additional feature is a cookery competition for all primary schools throughout the West Devon and Tamar Valley areas, which is organised and hosted by master chef Peter Gorton. The winning recipes will be cooked personally during the festival by Peter and will then be judged by a panel selected from the festival celebrity chefs. Peter said: ?I am so pleased with the depth of interest now being shown in the Tavistock Food Festival. Having BBC Radio Devon on board this year will be a huge publicity boost for us. The cookery competition for the local primary schools will be very exciting.? The festival opens at 9am on Saturday and 10am Sunday, closing on both days at 5pm.
