THE Dartmoor Railway from Meldon Quarry to Colebrook Junction was the chosen subject of a group of photographic enthusiasts who showed the results of their work at the Railway Inn, North Tawton, recently.
Adrian Magor, from Winkleigh led the group ? all members of the Crediton Camera Club.
The images formed a CD rom presentation complete with music and titles which had been assembled by club member John Spires.
This was the first public showing and, despite sleet, snow, and black ice, more than 20 guests and club members turned out to be welcomed by a log fire and well prepared buffet.
After questions, club chairman Cyril Chudley presented complimentary copies of the show to the guests.
He had a special word of thanks to Alan Evans, managing director of Meldon Quarry, for the half-day conducted tour of the quarry and its workings back in the summer.
Choosing Dartmoor Railway as a subject evolved last summer during the closed part of the club?s season when members split into four project groups.
Mr Magor said the club, which meets on Fridays in the Crediton Masonic Hall, had now selected the four projects for this year.
