A SEMI-RETIRED surgeon who has set up a charity for the children of Palestine is coming to Tavistock to show his film Eyes Open Gaza on Tuesday. Dr David Halpin was so moved by the sufferings and deprivations of Palestinian children that, last February, he embarked on a mission to take vital medical supplies, blankets, food and educational equipment to the Gaza Strip. He has now made three trips and set up the Dove and the Dolphin charity which organises more aid. Dr Halpin has just received a Premier South West Award for generosity. Dr Rupert Gude will introduce proceedings with a brief history of Palestine at Tavistock town hall on December 7 at 7.15pm. The evening has been organised by Tavistock Peace Action Group.
