BOB Fox, one of Britain's best-known singer/guitarists, will be appearing at The Plough Arts Centre in Torrington on Saturday. This concert is part of Bob's current UK tour and will feature many songs from his newly-released album, Borrowed Moments.
The show will include both traditional and contemporary songs.
'I have selected my repertoire to appeal to as wide a spectrum of listeners as possible,' Bob said. 'This isn't "serious" finger-in-the-ear stuff for folkies; many of the songs are well-known to young and old alike and I positively encourage audiences to sing along with the choruses.'
A professional performer for 30 years, Bob started as resident singer at the famous Davy Lamp Folk Club in his native north-east. He now plays arts centres and theatres throughout Britain and works in Europe, America and the Far East.
As well as playing major outdoor events such as Cambridge Folk Festival and Cropredy Music Festival, Bob recently starred in the BBC television music trailer In The Summertime, and was nominated for the BBC's Folk Singer of the Year award.
Tickets: £6 full/£5.50 concessions/£5 supporters. Box office: 01805 624624.
