FOUR students from Okehampton College, Ben, Lucas, Tiffany and Mark, certainly will be recognised for their work after being kindly presented with high visibility vests supplied by local waste and recycling contractor FOCSA.
The vests will enable students from both Okehampton and Tavistock Colleges to be safe and seen while working on the Woodland Rangers Project at Berrydown woods near Okehampton.
Lee Easton, a student support worker from Okehampton College, said: 'Without the generous support of local firms like FOCSA our students would not be able to have the opportunity to experience this type of project.
'We find the team working and social skills the students develop on this project helps them to be better prepared for life outside the classroom.'
John Mckenna, a local FOCSA supervisor, was happy to hand over the vests to the students and he and his colleague Dave Buckley were able to see first hand the work carried out by the students.
He said: 'It was fantastic to see young people out doing something positive for their environment and for their communities. FOCSA are keen to be involved in good local projects like this one and wish the students involved every success in the future.'
