THE Vranch House Fly Fishing Charity Challenge 2003 which ended at Tavistock Fishery last weekend has raised the second highest fundraising total in its history.

More than 100 anglers took part and raised £14,155, bringing the total since its inception in 1992 to £119,175.

The money will support children with cerebral palsy and physical difficulties who are cared for at the Vranch House School and Centre in Exeter.

Prolific fundraiser Mike Rowe from Drewsteignton was in the top five anglers who had raised the highest totals, with £815 making him third.

Mike's efforts resulted in his contributing over £5,000 to the cause since he became involved in the challenge. Tavistock Fishery raised £3,434 this year.
