ORGANISER of the Stoke Climsland Village Market for the last ten years Viv Berry was presented with a bouquet of flowers last week on her retirement.
Mrs Berry's community spirit was rewarded by Tesco and the bouquet was presented by the community champion at the Callington store, Alan Woollcombe, at the market, watched by stallholders, villagers and visitors.
She may have stepped down from the role but Viv will continue to have a stall selling her home-made cards and necklaces when the market resumes in February.
Alan Woollcombe said: 'This is for all her hard work, week in, week out. She has made the village market the success it is, and she will be a hard act to follow.
'I was just expecting to bow out quietly,' said Viv. 'I came up here for 18 months just to sell my cards, and I took over as market coordinator in 2001.
'The market is a wonderful resource and there's something for everybody here. I've made a lot of friends — but now I can go on holiday.'
