'FLOWERS in Praise' — favourite hymns and religious songs, was the theme for the recent flower festival at Hatherleigh.

The event, at St John the Baptist Church, saw 19 colourful arrangements, including that by Anne Cannon (pictured), 'Will Your Anchor Hold?'

Youngsters played their part, too, with the 1st Hatherleigh Guides' arrangement, 'Who Put the Colour in the Rainbow?'.

Thanks were expressed to Marjorie Cleverdon, Christine Clerdon, Roger Cleverdon and Dame Jane Whiteley for their organ recitals during the festival.
