ST Nicholas' Church at Broadwoodwidger again played host over the Bank Holiday weekend to the annual Festival of Flowers.
In this Diamond Jubilee year the theme was appropriately 'Milestones', with events during the Queen's time on the throne as diverse as John Glenn orbiting the earth, Red Rum winning his third Grand National and the first test tube baby.
The colour and variety of flowers on display were stunning, with a high degree of invention and imagination to match. Somebody's toybox had clearly been raided to assist with the exhibit commemorating the M1 and the first Mini car, while England's 1966 World Cup victory proved one of the most valuable, containing as it did an original cup final ticket and match programme.
