OKEHAMPTON Rotary Club's plans to take a number of senior citizens to a Rock Nativity at Okehampton College have had to be scrapped because the recent flooding resulted in the cancellation of the show.
It was intended to change the attraction this year from the Police Choir Concert in Exeter but unfortunately the college pupils have had insufficient time to rehearse.
As an alternative it is hoped it may be possible to stage a variety concert by Fusion, the Okehampton-based arts group, in the New Year.
The Christmas meal provided by Simon and Joan Essex at the Manor House Hotel will be on Tuesday December 12 and transport will be provided for those requiring it.
A donation of £5 will be requested from each participant with the proceeds going to Age Concern.
Anyone wishing to be considered should hand their names to John Stevens at Bob Gee Estate Agents in East Street, Okehampton, as soon as possible. Numbers are limited and it will be on a first-come first-served basis.
