FIRE crews were called to Meadowlands swimming pool in Tavistock last Thursday afternoon, to assist with the flooding of a plant room.

Crews arrived at around 12.37pm to find the plant room, which also contained several amounts of varying chemicals, to be flooded by approximately 12 inches of water.

The crew requested the help of a second crew from Tavistock, and then monitored and sought advice from the Environment Agency, who advised that the water would need to be collected by a specialist company.

Duty of care was left with the Environment Agency.
