A NEW football team for youngsters in Hatherleigh is being launched with a five-a-side fun day in the town this weekend. The five-a-side football tournament is being played at Hatherleigh Football Club this Sunday (August 13) and gets underway at 11am. The new Hatherleigh Reds under-11 team will be entering the Kingsley League in the autumn. The team will be beginning to run practice sessions at the end of August, but before then, they are launching by holding the five-a-side tournament. Hatherleigh will be entering an under-11 and under-12 team at the five a-side tournament and have invited other clubs in the area to send teams. Also at the fun day, there will be a bouncy castle, stocks, skittles, coconut shy, bar and barbecue. The team?s new red and black kit has been sponsored by the George Hotel in Hatherleigh.
