FACING opponents from two divisions higher Okehampton started as underdogs. and with another reshuffled side due to injuries and unavailability a good result was not expected.
But after good early possession it was Okehampton who looked to be the stronger side. Tom Williams? persistence in chasing a long ball forward saw him win the tackle with Exmouth?s keeper and he calmly stroked it into an empty net.
The visitors never looked to be causing problems to Okehampton?s defence but found themselves level with a fine long distance effort looping over Scott Leyman just before the break.
The second half saw most of the play in the midfield and it was Exmouth who took the lead with some sloppy defending from the back four.
Okehampton continued to press and got their reward when Dave Grimes stabbed home from close range to level the scores again. Exmouth then showed their superior fitness and class by retaking the lead from an unchallenged corner and with Okehampton throwing bodies forward in the last minutes scored another goal on the breakaway to secure their passage into the next round.
This Saturday away v South Zeal 3pm kick-off.
