Tavistock 1st 1 Ashmoor 6 TAVISTOCK faced the tough challenge of the youthful and skilful Ashmoor side who lay third in the division. The game was started at a high pace with Ashmoor playing very skilful hockey and passing the ball round the pitch with pace and accuracy. Tavistock battled hard in the midfield winning ball and at times threatening the Ashmoor D. It was not long before Ashmoor opened up the scoring through some weak defensive play from the back four. Tavistock passed the ball well down the right hand side which consisted of the speedy legs of Hawkins but did not have the finishing touch to set up the striking force of Honey and Cowen. On the stroke of half time Ashmoor scored another goal from a result of sloppy marking. The second half saw Ashmoor o tear apart the Tavistock defence with some individual skill that walked into the goal. The much more experienced head of Bellard playing right back still battled well against his younger counter part and saved the side from further goal scoring chances. Unfortunately the Tavistock midfield began to tire and Ashmoor took advantage of this scoring goals in quick succession. Man of the match: Ricky Bellard. This week Tavistock play away to Bude.
