TAVISTOCK Town Hall was full to bursting last Saturday night, as the venue hosted a packed night of live music and dancing which lasted into the early hours.

The QGL 'session' — the first in a series of similar events to be staged at the town hall — was headlined by the crowd-pulling Mad Dog Mcrea, with support by Autumn Colours, Kitty and the Lost Boys and Emma Ronchetti.

Host and DJ for the night was the popular former BBC broadcaster, Dave Benson Phillips.

The night proved a huge success, with the 370 available tickets selling out.

Matt Elesmore, of QGL Lighting and Stage Services, who organised the event, said he was delighted by the way the night went.

'It was so nice to see so many people who we know and nice to see them have a good time — most people that came said it was a great use of the venue, and a well-presented show,' he said.

Matt said he was hoping that the QGL Sessions would be staged approximately every two months or so — the next should be in April.

Dave Evans, the town hall manager, said: 'It was a superb night — long may it continue!

'I think great credit must go to Matt, of QGL, who organised it — it was very well done. Now that all the procedures are in place and we have done the first one, we know what to expect and we look forward to the next one!'
