Tavistock Ladies 1st XI 2

Plym Valley 2

TAVISTOCK were quick to pick up the ball and drive it into the opposition?s D.

Susannah Boulle, Emma White and Fiona Dunn made excellent interceptions and prevented the opposition from being a major threat in the first half.

Zoe Viggers had an excellent game in goal and made some crucial saves. Babs Horton had a good game in defence.

With Lisa Butler, Laura Stapleton and Fiona Dunn covering the right hand side, it was difficult for the opposition to find a gap to feed the ball.

Butler played some wise hockey and was able to feed some cracking balls into the ?D?. This resulted in Laura Armstrong scoring the first goal.

Numerous short corners were awarded to Tavistock and the fourth was a good ball out from Armstrong allowing Jo Gaspar to slot the ball into the goal.

An offence in Tavistock?s defending area resulted in Plym Valley being awarded a penalty flick. Viggers saved it confidently.

The second half saw a stronger Plym Valley score with Tavistock failing to mark players.

Dunn, Horton and Boulle worked hard to clear the ball out to the midfield but the forwards were not able to retain possession.

A short corner awarded to Plym Valley resulted in another penalty flick as it hit a Tavistock foot going into the goal. Unfortunately, Viggers was unable to save this, taking the score to 2-2.

This week Tavistock are at Ivybridge at 11am against Chudleigh.
