SATURDAY will see the first performance of five new jazz compositions by Hatherleigh composer and musician Marcus Vergette.
The collection 'Poet, Painter, Instrument Maker' is based on the places where artists work, create and think and is inspired by local artists, craftspeople and makers.
The music will be performed in Chagford Parish Church by the Resolution Jazz Quartet featuring Marcus on double bass, Craig Milverton on piano, Tony Marshall on guitar and Charlie Hearnshaw on alto sax.
The new work was commissioned by Chagford Arts Festival with the help of a grant from South West Arts.
Tickets cost £5 or £4.50 concessions to Friends of the Festival, students, seniors and job seekers and are available on the door or from Youds Newsagents in Chagford.
The concert begins at 8pm.
