OKEHAMPTON firecrew were called out to a car fire just outside the town early on Sunday morning (July 11).

Firefighters arrived at the end of New Road at approximately 7.15am to find the vehicle well alight and severely damaged by the blaze.

One fire appliance attended the scene, with firefighters using one hose reel and two sets of breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze.
