A TRAMPOLINE ?jumped? skywards in the severe gales on Monday night. Blown from a back garden in Station Road, Meeth, it ended up stuck on power lines. The 12 foot across trampoline and its caging broke power cables which began arcing and had to be isolated by Western Power. The trampoline was recovered with the help of firefighters from Hatherleigh. The incident occurred shortly after 11.15pm on Monday. Hatherleigh firefighter Owen Ravenscroft said the trampoline must have been picked off the ground by a ?freak blast of wind? and said the call-out was one of the most unusual ones he could remember. l Hatherleigh firefighters were called to the scene of a car which turned onto its roof following an accident near Highampton at around 8am on Tuesday. An ambulance attended the incident and the driver was treated for shock. l Chagford firefighters were called out to a car which had turned onto its side at Mill End in the early hours of last Saturday. All the occupants had safely vacated the vehicle following the accident which occured at around 1.30am.
