A TAVISTOCK businesswoman is hoping to drive out the competition at the Westcountry Wedding Awards with her new wedding car company.

Linda Woods started her Devon Wedding Car Company last August and has been shortlisted in the new business category of the awards. She is one of three finalists.

A former office worker, Mrs Woods moved to Tavistock from the North West in 2009 and set up her business with a 1930s replica Beauford open tourer and an 1967 Austin Princess.

The awards ceremony is to be held at Crownhill Fort in Plymouth on March 16.
