Duchy Premier Pensilva 1 Gunnislake 1 GUNNISLAKE started the better before Pensilva came into the game after 15 minutes. The hosts then had what proved to be their best period of the game before Gunnislake finished the first half the stronger. Throughout the opening 45 minutes neither side was able to create scoring opportunities apart from when Pensilva took a 20th minute lead via a harshly awarded penalty and Nathan May headed against the hosts crossbar. Gunnislake had the greater share of possession and the territorial advantage throughout a second period in which Pensilva, whilst a threat on the counter attack, got deeper and deeper as they looked to preserve their lead. Both sides' defences remained on top and on target. Goal efforts were rare with neither keeper having telling saves to make. Eventually, several minutes into injury time, Gunnislake got an end product to one of their many attacking moves. Ashley Dobson, playing his first match in the first team after a string good performances in the reserves and who produced an impressive display, was the provider for John Styring who shot home from 10 yards. This fixture saw Pete Styring make his Gunnislake debut but was the last match Client Nash will play for the club as he soon moves to Essex. The premier side is not in action until Saturday, December 30 when they visit Polperro for a 2.30pm kick off. The reserves, whose home match this Saturday was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, also have no fixture until December 30 when they entertain Altarnun reserves in a match again kicking off at 2.30pm.
