FOREST Row made a slow start in this friendly at Chagford against accurate bowling and were indebted to Humphreys (23) and a sparkling 37 not out from Alexander for a total of 122 for 9 declared at tea.
All the Chagford bowlers took wickets with Rose, 2-16, Cudmore, 2-29 and Divall 3-19 being the principal wicket takers.
Steele (32), Sampson (19) and Ridgers (25) paved the way for Cudmore, 20 not out, to see Chagford home with 4 wickets in hand.
Alexander for the visitors completed a fine all round performance with 3-37.
The feature of the game was the wicket keeping for Chagford of former Cornwall keeper Geoff Husband who was immaculate behind the stumps and finished with two catches and two stumpings.

FIVE of the Chagford batsmen made double figures as the home side reached 155-7 declared at tea, with Cudmore shining with a forceful 45.
In a long spell Jenkins took 4-65 for the visitors with skipper Ted Bowers chipping in with 2-20.
This moderate total began to look difficult against a Chagford veteran opening attack of Rose and Wreford — who totalled 119 years. Although Hacking (54) and Reynolds (28) put on 79 for the second wicket it was too slow and when they were dismissed the visitors settled for a draw to finish at 135-4.
Peter Rose, 1-34, and Mike Wreford, who bowled throughout the innings for 3-49, were the wicket takers, although youngsters Ian Webb and Neil Griffiths showed plenty of promise for the future.
Chagford v Kenn
Friendly — match drawn
WITH only two of their league side available, Chagford took the opportunity to include some young players in this friendly at Kenn.
Michael Chevalier with a thoughtful (59) held the innings together before being ninth out at 181, and there were two sparkling innings from David Murfin (37) and Wonnacott with a late order 37, and the Kenn innings closed for 185.
Young Ian Webb with 4-52 performed well with the ball and Mike Wreford supported him with 3-32.
Chagford made a confident start but with the dismissal of Hughes (31) and with the wickets of the younger players falling quickly it was left to Steve Hulse (35 not out) and Wreford 19 not to put on 45 for the ninth wicket and steer Chagford to a moderate 123 for 8 in this drawn game.
Pick of the Kenn attack was Fowler with 3-19.
