TAVISTOCK fielded a hockey team with three inexperienced players and Salcombe were quick to find the weaknesses. Three goals were scored in swift succession before Tavistock settled to the grass surface and only allowed one more goal through before half-time.

The second half was more even with the ball being passed well and the Tavistock forwards able to attack. Salcombe scored another goal before Tavistock put together a strong attack with Gaynor Pollard putting the ball away in the back of the net.

Salcombe were relentless and put away two more goals before Tavistock were able to reply with a good goal from Janet Simmons.
