THE glitz and glamour of Hollywood returns to Chagford later this year as the dates for the town's second film festival have been announced.

Planning for the festival from September 24 to September 29 is well underway.?Organisers aim for a bigger and bolder festival to ensure it becomes a staple on the Chagford event calendar.

Last year's festival attracted a number of notable filmmakers, including one of the producers of Oscar-winning film The King's Speech, Gareth Unwin.

Mr Unwin will make an appearance at the second festival, as will director Stephen Saunders, who last year debuted his film 'The Long March to Freedom' at the festival.

Films from an eclectic mix of genres will be shown at the Globe Cinema, the Jubilee Hall, Endecott House and St Michael's Church during the week-long event.

One of the films to be shown at St Michael's Church is Jesus Christ Superstar, while the Globe Cinema will play host to a late-night horror film on September 28.

The festival will also celebrate 50 years of James Bond films.

Businesses and shops will again be asked to dress up their shop windows with film-related displays. Many businesses have donated prizes for the festival raffle, which is raising money for the Edge Youth Project based in Chagford and ShelterBox.

Chagford Business Association will also be supporting this year's festival.
