Morgarows 1

Okeh'pton Columbines 1

Okehampton fought and chased for everything and never let Morgarows settle. Oke were prepared to battle from the start to put the Morgarows' goal under pressure.

Grace Thorpe chased down the ball at the front, forcing Morgarows to put the ball out of play. Louise Weller and Alex Collins developed a good passing routine on the left, with Jo Moppett working hard at left inner to create scoring chances. The pressure paid off when a sloppy free hit was intercepted by Alex who passed to Jo to blast into the goal and put Oke 1-0 ahead. Columbines had the better of the first half, with the midfield of Louise, Carol Taylor and Jennie Humphrey cutting out the threat of the Morgarows attack.

Morgarows came out strongly in the second half, but the Okehampton backs, Debbie Pritchard and Sandy Douglas, both tackled well and defended solidly. As Okehampton tired, they conceded more and more corners, but confident goalkeeping from Sophie Whiteley, with the help of her defence, kept Morgarows at bay. Despite Whiteley making a magnificent save late on unfortunately Oke could not hold on, and conceded a goal from another corner.
