A SPECTACULAR and very loud display by the volunteers at Crownhill Fort in Plymouth is just one of the many attractions at Buckland Monachorum?s June Fair, which takes place this Saturday.

The fair, held in the grounds of St Andrew?s School, will be officially opened when an 18th century field gun is fired at 2pm. In addition to the Crownhill volunteers? display, there will be gunnery skills on show, archery, miniature train rides, a greasy pole, art displays, craft, plant and cake stalls and for the energetic, a cross country run.

Prior to the start of the fair, a fancy dress parade through the village will take place at 1.30pm. The theme for the parade is the anniversary of the queen?s coronation ? judging will take place at the village hall at 1pm.

Entry to the fair is just 50p ? all proceeds will be distributed amongst the groups helping to organise the event.
