YELVERTON Bowling Club on Monday held their August Bank Holiday Triples competition.

Despite the fact there were fewer competitors this year due to family commitments and holidays, an enjoyable day was had by all.

Winners were Maurice Hellier, Val Edwards and Alan Marshall, runners-up Heather Lock, Phyl Hellier and Brian Smale with Michael Brain, Jeanne Holloway and Liz Broughton winning the booby prize.

A home mixed friendly match against Civil Service on Wednesday ended in a loss by two shots.

A re-arranged ladies? league game against Ivybridge had to be cancelled again due to heavy rain.

On Saturday the home friendly mixed against Bere Alston ended in a draw. At first it was thought Bere Alston had won but a recount showed the scores to be equal.
