THERE will be a warm welcome at Gulworthy Church now the new heating system has been installed after six years of planning and fundraising.

Shivering in the pews is a thing of the past but fundraisers are not letting the dust settle under their feet because they are now onto the next challenge — gathering the cash to insulate the roof and reduce the loss of the newly gained heat.

A big community weekend is planned for December 13 and 14 and church members are preparing for their second Christmas Tree Festival after a big success in 2005. The small church will be decked with 25 lighted Christmas trees, each decorated by church members and local community groups, including friends from Tavistock and refreshments will be provided.

On the Saturday afternoon from 2-4pm the parish hall committee will hold a Christmas fayre with lots of stalls, a grand draw, children's activities and refreshments by Gulworthy WI. Funds will go towards urgently needed funds to replace the parish hall roof, another worthy cause in the community.
