PEOPLE spending Christmas Day alone are being invited to enjoy a festive lunch at Tavistock's United Reformed Church in Russell Street.

This will the fourth year that the URC, together with the Salvation Army, has organised a traditional turkey lunch — last year the event attracted some 80 people along.

There is no charge for the meal but it is essential that people book their place for lunch as numbers are limited.

Helpers are also needed on the day and they should contact Mr Cornish before the end of November.
