A DELIGHTFUL musical event with a festive flavour is due to take place in Tavistock?s parish church this Saturday. Stannary Brass Band will be holding its Christmas charity concert in the church ? with special guests Tavistock Musical Theatre Company which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary. Stephen Gray, spokesman for the band, said: ?As in previous years, entrance to the concert is free and a retiring collection will be made in aid of Children?s Hospice South West and Youthwize. These are the chosen charities of Tavistock town mayor and the mayor of West Devon respectively.? Stephen said the concert would be hosted by BBC Radio Devon?s Phillip Hunt, with refreshments provided by the Lions Club of Tavistock. ?Previous concerts have been standing room only ? so be there early,? he advised. The Christmas concert starts at 7.30pm.
