KELLY Choral Society and Orchestra presents its Christmas Concert in Tavistock Parish Church this Saturday, which promises to be a delight for all music lovers.
The concert includes highlights from Handel's magnificent oratorio 'Judas Maccabaeus' and Vaughan Williams' delightful 'Fantasia on Christmas Carols' in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the great English composer's death.
The performance will be conducted by the Society's musical director, Andrew Wilson, leader of the orchestra is Dawn Ashby and bass soloist is Ian Hardy.
The Society is particularly proud to be able to welcome back the young soprano Sarah Jenks: a Tavistock girl who made a triumphant debut with the society in Handel's 'Messiah' four years ago.
She is now studying at Oxford University and with international opera star Claire Powell.
