IT?S the final countdown to Hatherleigh Festival? four days of entertainment extravaganza with diverse events ranging from fascinating workshops to exciting performances. The festival runs from Thursday, July 13 to Sunday, July 16 with a programmed crammed with items designed to please all tastes. This year?s line up includes vibrant Turkish dance band Oojami, who exude a feel good party mood mixed with jazzy worldwide flavours, perfect for enjoying a colourful evening of dancing and a visual treat. The comedy club features three Comedians all well known on the comedy circuit, headlining is one of the circuits biggest pulls, Ian Cognito, who has been hailed as ?stunning? by the major press. Street theatre includes the slightly surreal Children?s installation, ?Slightly Bigger Little Red Riding Hood goes To the Launderette? and The Wonderful, marvellous, muscular, acrobatic, Skate Naked. There is plenty of live music with Saturday night in the marquee dancing to local favourites the Hard place Band. The festival?s classical section features soprano Vicky Collier and pianist Roger Cleverdon. There is an organ recital, and the Anglo Sax Quartet whose music is an eclectic fusion of jazz, classical Latin and funk. There is even a Festival Fringe with the hilarious Molesworthy farm being performed by the Hatherleigh Players on July 7 and July 8 and The Bacchanale ensemble performing Clarinet Quintets by Mozart and Weber on Sunday July 23.
