QUICK feed from the Tavistock forwards to the back line saw swift progress up the field with an early reward of a try from an agile Frazer Bayliss emerging blindside from a ruck.
The second try saw Chris Swash drive against the Bideford defence but before being stopped almost at the line popped the ball to Jamie Duncan who went over. The third try was worked by Will Colton but with excellent protection of the ball an on form Chris Swash was able to break through the defence to touch down. Tavistock continued to support the ball carrier. They were rewarded with a fourth try which came from ground gained by James Coone breaking away from a scrum - the ball was worked through Sam Northmore who drove through three attempted tackles. Bideford were allowed one try as a result of Tavistock not 'playing the whistle.' In the second half hesitation in the tackle by Tavistock allowed some strong and agile Bideford players to run the ball upfield for which they were rewarded with a try. Nevertheless, the inertia in the squad on the day delivered three more tries ranging from a Sam Northmore solo effort to a team effort with the final move being by Will Colton from a ball delivered at short range through Henry Kisby.
