TOP business speakers will share their expertise at a special meeting at the end of the month to be hosted by West Devon Borough Council at its Kilworthy Park offices.

The event, open to all businesses in the area, takes place on Thursday, October 29 from 6.30pm to 8pm. An earlier event on October 16 had to be cancelled.

Speakers will include Bruce Thompson, head of the transport co-ordination service at Devon County Council, who will give a presentation about strategic rail developments in the county and Liz Abell, managing director of DR Company. will give an update on the Dartmoor Local Enterprise Action Fund.

Nadine Trout, economy manager at West Devon Borough Council, will explain about the council's new business survey being undertaken during October, which will provide businesses with an opportunity to have their say on issues and challenges facing them.

Local businesses can air their views on the council's proposed spending plans for 2015/2016 which will be presented by Lisa Buckle, head of finance and audit.
