HATHERLEIGH residents have been on the look-out after a fourth cat has gone missing on the same estate in Hatherleigh in the last two weeks. Residents believe there may be a team of ?cat-stealers? on the loose and are warning residents of the Moorview Estate to keep their cats in at night for the time being. Ross Hemsworth said: ?Our beloved Coco, a three-year-old Burmese who was like a child to us, went out on Thursday night at around 11.30pm and has not returned since. ?Despite posters around the area, reports to local vets and a door-to-door search, nobody has seen him. ?He has dark brown fur and green eyes and is micro-chipped, and wears a flourescent yellow collar with a bell on it.? If anyone does find Coco they are asked to contact Mr Hemsworth on 07968 163866. He added: ?Coco never went out for any more than two to three hours and is a home-loving cat ? our other cat is pining terribly for him, sitting at the window crying constantly.? It is notable that only dark coloured cats seem to have gone missing at the moment, and all seem to have disappeared at night. If anyone has any information about possible cat-stealers, or has seen anyone acting suspiciously, they are asked to call Mr Hemsworth or report it to Okehampton Police who have been informed of the matter.
